The Russian owner of a Cape Town strip club and a Bulgarian club employee have appeared in the Cape Town magistrate’s court in connection with allegations of conspiracy to kidnap, possession of illegal firearms and drugs, and other offences.Yuri Ulianitski, 33 – also known as “Yuri the Russian” – of Blouberg Strand, and Ilian Fishkin, 39, of Parklands, were arrested at the V&A Waterfront on Friday after a months-long police investigation that led to a sting operation.

The police acted on a tip-off by an informant.

The court heard on Monday that Ulianitski and Fishkin were now South African citizens and had fixed addresses.
