Tags: No Tags.Just hours after being shot by a security official outside Table View High School, a 20-year-old man and his twin brother were arrested in connection with the theft of a laptop computer.Earlier, after they had been searched by police, the pair and their friends had been involved in a scuffle with security officials outside the school, leading to the shooting on Tuesday afternoon.
They had also been asked to leave the area because they were allegedly “known trouble-makers”.
The brothers may not be named until after their appearance in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Thursday on the theft charge.
The shot brother was treated at Groote Schuur Hospital for a wound to his right shoulder and discharged.
Police spokesperson Captain Elliot Sinyangana confirmed the incident and said it had been reported that the young men had become “unruly in a threatening manner”.
Charges of attempted murder and of discharging a firearm in a municipal area were laid on Wednesday.
Deputy principal Ronlyn Cummings said the twins had no connection with the school and she was upset that gunshots had been fired while pupils were in the vicinity.
