The manager of a Table View Spar, who did not wish to be named, said the suspension of the Lotto had affected business to a certain extent.

“We used to have queues of people here on a Saturday night to buy the Lotto but now we have none,” she said.

Pick ‘n Pay in Plumstead said the store had also been affected.

But Brendon Leiberum, manager of Spar in Bellville, said customers still came into the store to buy products regardless of the Lotto being suspended.
