CH Warman warms up to Cape

THE CH Warman pump group, the supplier of quality pumps to the mining, industrial, agricultural and marine markets, have been represented in Cape Town for more than 30 years. The branch moved to its current offices in Killarney Gardens, Table View in 1998.

It services the areas from Alexander Bay on the West Coast to the Kei River mouth on the South Coast. Kimberley (where the company operates another branch) forms the Northern border of operation.

The branch is headed up by branch manager, John West, who explains the branch has a different market to the group’s other inland branches. “We do not have the same number of mining clients in the Western Cape, and have thus been forced to concentrate on other areas of business to supplement the mining customers we service.”

West says that because the customer base is so diverse and scattered, the service centre differs from its up-country counterparts. “Although we do service pumps in our facilities, because of the remoteness of many of our customers, it is not feasible for them to send their pumps in for repair and wait for us to service them. We therefore offer a refurbishment service whereby the customers send us their serviceable pumps and we supply them with a reconditioned pump.”
