SHOP owners and businesses at the Boy de Goede Circle in Blouberg Road are losing customers and patience. Nobody wants to listen to their problems, they say. Their business prospects are being destroyed and they are now at their wits’ end.

Commensurate with unemployment in the area, conditions at Boy de Goede has steadily grown worse. There are still genuine job-seekers who turn up daily in the hope of being picked up by someone offering employment, but others use this as a pretext for loitering.

It is the latter group that appears to be making life unbearable for the people whose livelihood depend on their customers. Last week several of them spoke to TygerBurger about the situation.
