Despite the tougher trading conditions in the property market, Pam Golding Properties has reported a resurgence of activity in the Cape metro area, with numerous key sales concluded during the month of April 2008. This comes despite the fact that the approach of winter and the April school holidays usually herald a slowdown in the market in this area. PGP’s MD for the Western Cape metro region, Laurie Wener, says her team closed sales to a total of R311 million during the month.

On the Western Seaboard, agents have reported ongoing demand for secure beachfront homes. PGP’s Blouberg team secured the highest price ever for a unit in the sought-after Bay View security complex, selling a double-storey townhouse with three bedrooms, all en suite, for R5.4 million. PGP also sold a five-bedroomed home in Bloubergstrand Village for R6.25 million.
