Blouberg Buses the solution

MORE roads will just encourage more people to get into their cars, while the City of Cape Town needs to establish a public transport system.

Ms Helen Zille, executive mayor of the City of Cape Town, said at a meeting in D’Urbanvale, Durbanville last week it will take 15 to 20 years to get this across to people.

“In the end we must not assume that every person will have a car.

“We must make a switch to a spinal rail, linked with bus transport,” she said.

A pilot project to link areas like Bloubergstrand, Tableview and Atlantis along the West Coast will be launched first, she said.

If the bus service could be compared to the luxury of Jo’burg, say 30 years ago, i would agree, it would be fantastic to have the same sort of frequent service in comfort.

“But” the current Golden Arrow, “well” that reminds me of the Apartheid day’s of busses commuting to Soweto !

SO WERE TOO ! From here.

    Doubtfulness prevails !
