THE rights of existing Milnerton residents should be protected before that of new residents, and the law should be on the side of law-abiding citizens.

In plain language, the Milnerton Residents Association (MRA) will in future concentrate on overall strategy and tactics for resolving problems with the council, itinerant residents and illegal businesses.

“As homeowners we wish the residential nature, leafy suburb and quiet ambience of Milnerton to remain. This is what the existing residents have invested in,” says David Lipschitz, chairperson of the MRA.

“We do not wish to stop development in Milnerton, but home­owners must firstly obey the laws of our country in terms of zoning, building regulations and be­haviour.”
