Anxious pet owners will have to wait a bit longer for test results that will prove whether or not their pets have been poisoned by batches of contaminated food.Eleven Woolworths customers have reported the deaths of their pets and are waiting for test results to confirm the presence of a contaminant, ethylene glycol, detected in the dry pet food.
Table View resident Cas Viljoen is also waiting for test results, which are expected on Monday, after his four-year-old Rottweiler, Beaumar died “a very painful death” this week.
Vomiting blood and showing other signs of serious discomfort, Beaumar suffered for three days at a veterinary clinic in Table View before succumbing. Viljoen was adamant that Beaumar died because he had eaten contaminated food.
